Legendary British metallers Judas Priest have finished the writing process for their new yet untitled album. This will follow up their conceptual Nostradamus album. While their previous effort appeared to do well, I wasn’t a huge fan of it. The last album with Halford that I really liked was Painkiller. I also like the Jugulator release with Tim “Ripper” Owens a lot, which may contradict your average Priest fan. There aren’t many that like Blayze Bayley era Iron Maiden, so take that as you will.
I’m pretty excited for this new release because it appears as though they are returning to their roots, according to the following statement from Rob Halford:
We felt it was very important to follow up ‘Nostradamus’, the last release, and that was a concept experiment and it was a real success for us and the fans loved it, but I think our fans and ourselves as a band, we want to get back to the side of PRIEST that we haven’t heard for a few years and reemphasize and remake those big, heavy metal statements again.
