So, recently this video came up on my Facebook feed posted by someone who shall remain nameless. It’s live footage of Pantera covering Metallica‘s Whiplash on July 15th, 1994. Phil and Dimebag switched it up for this, Dimebag sang and Phil played guitar (played a pretty rippin’ solo too). In my opinion, Dimebag sounds so much better than James Hetfield here. What’s funny is that in the beginning of the video, the dude filming says “they’re fuckin’ way better than Metallica” – that made me go haha. Technically, they’re joined by Jason Newsted but he didn’t really contribute much here. Check it out below.
