Former Megadeth drummer Nick Menza recently unveiled a new music project called Atomic Disintegrator (which is kind of funny because when I first met Nick I was in a band called Atomic). Nick is currently working on pre-production in his studio “blasting out some ideas with two unknown guitarists.”
According to Nick:
It’s pumped balls out heavy, catchy and heavily influenced by Gojira, Opeth, Meshuggah. I will be holding auditions for the following positions in the coming weeks, frontman, bass player and guitar players.
A gruesome power saw accident in 2007 nearly severed Nick’s arm and doctors weren’t sure he’d ever play again. Naturally, we are very excited to see Nick involved with a new project and look forward to hearing it.
Nick is currently selling limited edition autographed 18′ x 24′ prints of the saw that nearly ended his career along with a copy of the x-ray that clearly shows his flesh ripped away down to the bone. You can pick your up for only $20 while they last at this location – they are limited to only 150 copies.
